Opposition sensing defeat, resorting to communal agenda: BJP

NEW DELHI: BJP Thursday reacted strongly to a

TMC MLA

publicly threatening to “flush the

Hindu community

into the Ganga”, and said the

opposition

bloc had sensed “inevitable defeat” and was resorting to a hardline

communal agenda

to polarise a section of society.
BJP spokesman Sudhanshu Trivedi said it was a threat to the Hindu community as he appealed to people to give a befitting reply to such people by voting in maximum numbers.

A video of Humayun Kabir, TMC MLA from Bharatpur in Murshidabad district, in which he is threatening to drown the Hindu community in the Ganga has gone viral.
Trivedi cited an “INDI Alliance” member in Farrukhabad speaking of “vote jihad”. “Congress has sensed its inevitable defeat and INDI Alliance is now going berserk. They are losing their mental cool and balance so they are going to the extent of invoking violence on the hardline communal agenda. First, they tried to put a communal lining in their manifesto. Then they tried to communalise the reservation issue,” he said.
“TMC MLA Humayun Kabir has gone to the extent of saying that we will drown you in the Ganga. Your hatred against Hindu dharma and sanskriti stands exposed,” he said.
