smartwatch

-- Watch 2.

OnePlus Watch 2

comes with entirely new design, features and functionality. One of the biggest differences in terms of specs is that the OnePlus Watch 2 runs on Google’s Wear OS, then there’s the latest generation

Qualcomm chipset

and more. If you are planning to buy one, here are 10 things you should know about the OnePlus Watch 2.
OnePlus’ most-premium watch yet, takes on smartwatches from Apple and Samsung
OnePlus Watch 2 is priced at Rs 25,000. Which makes it go against the likes of Samsung Galaxy Watch6 and even Apple Watch SE 2.
OnePlus Watch 2 is cheapest military-grade certified watch

OnePlus Watch 2 has an IP68 water and dust resistance rating and is also MIL-STD-810H certified for added durability. At its price, it is the cheapest military-grade certified watch in India.
Comes only in one size
OnePlus Watch 2 is available only in the 46mm version. This can be a little big for some users. Also, smartwatches at this price point usually offer multiple sizes. For instance, the Apple Watch SE 2 comes in 40mm and 44mm. Also, the Galaxy Watch6 comes in 40mm and 43mm sizes.

Cheapest smartwatch with Sapphire Crystal display
OnePlus Watch 2 is the cheapest smartwatch with a 2.5D Sapphire Crystal display cover. It features a 1.42-inch AMOLED display with 466*466 pixel resolution and 600 nits of peak brightness.
No 4G connectivity
OnePlus Watch 2 is available only in the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi connectivity option. There’s no LTE/Cellular version of the watch available. Samsung Galaxy Watch6 comes in an LTE version, however, it is slightly more expensive. However, it supports GPS and NFC as well.
Watch 2 comes in two colour options
OnePlus is offering Watch 2 in two colour options -- Radiant Steel and Black Steel.
Runs WearOS 4 by Google
Unlike the first generation OnePlus Watch, the Watch 2 runs the WearOS operating system with support for Google Play services like Play Store. Users will get access to all the apps available for Wear OS devices along with watch faces and other features available.
Powered by dual chipset design
OnePlus has put two chips in the Watch 2 to offer performance and efficiency at the same time. Watch 2's unique Dual-Engine Architecture powers the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 and BES 2700 chipsets to deliver some of the most efficient power management. The watch is paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage.
Offers 100 hours of battery life in Smart Mode
OnePlus has claimed 100 hours of battery life with Watch 2. However, this number is claimed for Smart Mode which restricts several functionalities of the watch. With most of the features turned on, the watch is rated to deliver 48 hours of battery life only. Also, the power-saving mode claims 12 days of battery life.
Offers a range of health-tracking options
OnePlus hasn’t shied away from adding health-tracking features to Watch 2. It comes with Vo2 Max, SpO2, and heart rate monitoring, among others.
Supports wide range of workouts and activities
Supports 100+ sports modes along with 6 automatic detection options for running, walking, cycling, swimming, rowing machine, elliptical machine. Additionally, there’s a Professional indicator analysis that shows aerobic training effect, cardiorespiratory capacity, recovery time, heart rate recovery rate, running posture, track running mode, etc.
Features an EMMC card slot, but not for storage expansion
The smartwatch has a dedicated memory card slot but only for RTOS which OnePlus’ native smartwatch OS.
No wireless charging
OnePlus Watch 2 comes with a charging cradle in the box which looks like a wireless charger, but it is actually a POGO-pin-based charger which we see in affordable smartwatches that cost under Rs 5,000. This also brings a major limitation as users can’t use their Qi-certified wireless chargers to charge the Watch 2.
