OnePlus
is all set to launch its next batch of flagship smartphones –
OnePlus 12
and
OnePlus 12R
– next week. But there is more in the store, which could come as soon as next month. OnePlus plans to reveal its next watch, which could be its first one to run
WearOS
, at the
MWC
in February.
Max Jambor, a tipster, claims that the
OnePlus Watch 2
will be launched at the
Mobile World Congress
in late February.
According to Jambor, the watch will come with a significant upgrade over the first OnePlus Watch, which lacked Wear OS.
The first OnePlus Watch, which debuted in 2021, was not well received. OnePlus opted to use a basic, energy-saving OS for the watch. However, details of the "OnePlus Watch 2" have started to emerge, including the information that it will be powered by Google's Wear OS.
Xiaomi already entered the Wear OS market last September with its Watch 2 Pro. It seems that another Chinese brand, OnePlus, is preparing to follow suit.
Leaked specifications suggest that the
OnePlus Watch
2 has a 1.43-inch AMOLED display and is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset.
The Mobile World Congress will take place from February 26th to February 29th, so any announcements from OnePlus will likely come towards the end of the month. However, teasers are sure to be released well before that. We can also expect a hint at the OnePlus’ upcoming launch event for the OnePlus 12.
OnePlus is launching the OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12, and
OnePlus Buds 3
at the “Smooth Beyond Relief” event on January 23 in Delhi, India.
