One killed, two injured after cab jumps curb in car crash in Queens: NYPD

SOUTH OZONE PARK, Queens (PIX11) – One woman is dead and two other people were injured after a cab jumped the sidewalk during a car crash in Queens, police say.

The incident happened at Lefferts Boulevard and 115th Avenue in South Ozone Park just after 3 a.m. on Saturday.

A gray Honda Accord and yellow cab crashed into each other at the intersection of Lefferts Boulevard and 115th Avenue, causing the cab to jump the curb, authorities report. 

Three people on the sidewalk were hit, including a 51-year-old woman who later died at the hospital, according to police. A 49-year-old man and a 44-year-old man sustained minor injuries but are expected to survive.

The drivers of both vehicles and their passengers were not injured during the crash.

Investigators are still looking into how the crash may have happened but say neither driver appeared to be under the influence.
