NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Due to the heat advisory, the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation announced certain outdoor pools across New York City will operate with extended hours on Monday and Tuesday.
Temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s as high pressure will remain firmly anchored over the region.
Residents are encouraged to take proper precautions as exposure to high temperatures can cause severe heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Those without air conditioning are encouraged to find a cool place to visit or to find the nearest cooling center.
All Olympic and intermediate-sized pools will be open until 8 p.m. For a full list of the pools around the city, click here.
