Ola founder
and
CEO Bhavish Aggarwal
announced on Friday that the
ride-hailing platform
has discontinued its app's integration with
Google Maps
and replaced it with in-house
Ola Maps
. The move, according to Aggarwal, has enabled the company to save Rs 100 crore annually, he said in a post on X.
"After exiting Azure last month, we have now fully moved away from Google Maps.
Previously, we spent Rs 100 crore a year on this... we have reduced that cost to zero," he stated.
