Off-duty NYPD officer arrested in Brooklyn: police

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – An off-duty NYPD officer was arrested and charged with assault and harassment in Brooklyn Sunday, police said. 

Avijit Boiragee, 33, was arrested just before 4 a.m. in Brooklyn’s 61st Precinct, which covers Sheepshead Bay and part of Gravesend, according to the NYPD. 

Two Queens subway stations get deep clean, repairs

Police could not share any details about Boiragee’s arrest. 

Boiragee started working as a police officer in 2021 and he most recently worked in Brooklyn, city records show.
