NEW DELHI: Starting on Sunday,

New Zealand

will play a home one-day series against

Bangladesh

to test new talent while resting a few of its more seasoned players.
The first of three ODIs between the teams will take place in Dunedin this coming weekend, after last week's drawn Test series in Bangladesh.
Kane Williamson

and

Tim Southee

, among other senior players, will get rest days.

Seamer William O'Rourke, 22, and all-arounder

Joshua Clarkson

, 26, are both eligible to make their international debuts.
Adithya Ashok, a 21-year-old leg-spinner who was born in India, was also called up to the team following his Twenty20 debut in August.

New Zealand lost to hosts India in the semi-finals of the World Cup.
"With a few guys resting there are opportunities. We hope the new guys come in and show off their skills as best they can," captain

Tom Latham

said on Friday.
"It's a really exciting bowling attack," Latham added, with O'Rourke and fellow seamer

Kyle Jamieson

both known for their pace and bounce.
O'Rourke, who was born in England, has quickly risen through the ranks of the New Zealand ODI team after making his home debut for Canterbury in early 2022.

During the August and September tour of Australia with the New Zealand 'A' team, Clarkson made an impression.
All-rounder

Rishad Hossain

helped Bangladesh warm up with a 26-run victory over a New Zealand XI on Thursday, taking three wickets and scoring 87 runs.
"We know most of the players," said Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto, sizing up the hosts.
"Some of them are very new, but we will have some footage."
The second ODI is scheduled for next Wednesday in Nelson and for December 23 in Napier.
Thereafter, a three-match Twenty20 series will begin.
