NYPD officers injured arresting suspect at Queens bike shop

QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) --- Two NYPD officers were injured in a fight with a suspect at a Queens bike store Monday afternoon, police said.

The cops were responding to a fight at a bike repair shop near 42nd Street and Broadway in Astoria around 1 p.m. and were hurt while trying to arrest one of the suspects, according to the NYPD. The other person involved in the fight got away.

The cops were not seriously injured but the exact injuries were unclear.

The Fly E-bike glass front was shattered during the altercation, according to pictures from the scene. No other information was immediately available.

The incident comes on the same day two cops were shot after pulling over a scooter traveling the wrong way in Queens on Monday morning.
