NYPD officer injured in hit-and-run in Queens: police

QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) --- Authorities are searching for a driver who ran over a cop's foot while fleeing a traffic stop in Queens Sunday night, police said.

The officers pulled over a black Chevy Corvette near Centerville Street and 109th Avenue at around 7:45 p.m., according to the NYPD and law enforcement sources. As one of the cops approached the vehicle, the driver sped off, running over the officer's foot, police said.

Authorities found the abandoned Corvette just after 9 p.m., sources said. The driver remained at large, as of Monday morning, police said.

The cop was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
