QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) --- An NYPD officer is accused of having more than a dozen unregistered guns in his home, including some in the same room where his 15-month-child slept, authorities said.
Jason McLeod, 37, allegedly had 15 firearms, including shot guns, rifles and handguns, improperly stored in his Queens home, according to the criminal complaint.
Authorities found the weapons in a kitchen cabinet, bedroom closets, on a coffee table in the living room, prosecutors said. Some of the firearms were found in the bedroom with his baby's crib, according to court records.
None of the guns were safely stored in a locked box, authorities said.
McLeod was arrested Saturday and charged with endangering the welfare of a child and failure to safely store rifles, shotguns, and firearms.
The cop pled not guilty and was released without bail at his arraignment, according to court records. His job status was unclear.
