NYPD helicopter seen attempting water operation over Coney Island

CONEY ISLAND, Brooklyn (PIX11) -- An NYPD helicopter can be seen on video attempting a water rescue operation near a pier in Coney Island on Wednesday, according to police.

The video shot from the pier showed the helicopter lowering people into the water.

Police said a man, possibly in his 20s, jumped from the pier into the water around 2:42 p.m. It is unclear why the man jumped into the water, though police said the dive operation has concluded.
