There will also be a special emergency meeting at the United Nations Headquarters about the strike at 4 p.m.

In response to the attack, Mayor Eric Adams wrote on X, "As mayor of the largest Jewish population in the world outside of Israel, the significance of Iran's attack for Jewish New Yorkers — many of whom have family in Israel — is not lost on me, especially with Passover just days away."

"I strongly condemn the attack by the Iranian government and remain concerned about the risk of further escalation of hostilities in the Middle East," Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer also wrote on X.

The NYPD said there are no credible threats against Jewish houses of worship, but are taking precautions.
