NEW YORK (PIX11) -- All branches of the Brooklyn Public Library, the New York Public Library, and the Queens Public Library will be closed on Tuesday due to the snowstorm.
The storm could drop 5 to 8 inches of snow in New York City on Tuesday, according to city officials.
Precipitation is expected to start as rain Monday night, then change to a rain-snow mix around 4 a.m. Tuesday before turning to all snow around 7 a.m., officials said.
The New York City Department of Sanitation issued the snow alert beginning Tuesday at 3 a.m. through 7 p.m. that evening.
New York City public schools are moving to remote learning on Tuesday.
New York City is also suspending alternate side parking regulations on Tuesday.
