NEW YORK (PIX11) – The city has launched a pilot program for select public employees to test out a four-day workweek.

Mayor Eric Adams said the program is with labor union DC 37. The program is specifically for employees who are unable to work remotely due to the nature of their work and other limitations.

Why do pigeons stay in NYC during winter?

Employees who opt for the shortened workweek must fulfill the same number of hours worked in a five-day workweek.

The pilot is set to run through May of next year.
