NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) -- Spring is here, signaling the return of the annual Easter Parade and Bonnet Festival in New York City.

The Easter Parade and Easter Bonnet Festival date back to the 1870s and some revelers may even don period costumes for the event. The parade doesn't showcase any marching bands or performers, all that's needed to join in on the fun is a bonnet.
