BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – Boris & Horton will be shuttering its Brooklyn location at the end of May, the popular dog café announced on Instagram.

The café initially announced plans to close both of its Brooklyn and East Village locations back in February due to financial struggles but was able to raise $250,000 in an effort to keep them open.

The owners of the café said sales at the Brooklyn location were "too weak to support the store."

"We tried partnering with other local businesses, hiring an events manager, adding more programming, and other ways to bring in foot traffic," the owners said on Instagram.

The East Village location will remain open, the café said.
