NYC CM Aviles discusses migrants found in QNS basement

NEW YORK (PIX11) - Mayor Eric Adams on Tuesday said he is open to the idea of changing New York’s sanctuary city laws for immigrants.

The mayor expressed this opinion one day after the discovery of dozens of migrants who were living in the basement of a Queens business. Currently, the laws limit the city’s ability to officially cooperate with immigration authorities.

City Councilwoman Alexa Aviles, who also chairs the immigration committee, joined the PIX11 Morning News on Wednesday to discuss recent high-profile crimes involving migrants and to offer an update on the migrants who were discovered in the basement in Queens on Monday.
