BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – An affordable housing lottery in New York City is offering one-bedroom apartments with $961 rent, but time is running out to apply.

The affordable housing lottery is for the Douglass Street Apartments, located at 164 4th Ave. in Brooklyn.

“Douglass Street Apartments in the heart of Brooklyn's Gowanus area offers 48 affordable homes in a stunning setting!” the building’s listing states. “This isn't just an apartment building — it's a community filled with exciting amenities including a music room, gym, pet spa, coworking space, sports court, dishwashers in unit, high-end kitchen appliances, and much more.”

The building has 29 one-bedroom apartments available for $961 a month. A single person making between $37,303 and $43,480 would qualify. A couple making between $37,303 and $49,720 would qualify. A household of three people making between $37,303 and $55,920 would qualify.

The building has three studio apartments available for $903 a month. A single person making between $34,766 and $43,480 would qualify. A couple making between $34,766 and $49,720 would qualify.

There are also six two-bedroom apartments available for $1,142 a month. A couple making between $44,983 and $49,720 would qualify. A household of three people making between $44,983 and $55,920 would qualify.

The housing lottery offers 10 additional units, including one studio apartment, eight one-bedroom apartments, and one two-bedroom apartment. People with higher incomes would qualify for these apartments, which have higher rent.

The eligible income range to apply to the lottery is $34,766 to $218,010. The deadline to apply is Monday, March 17.

The property is listed on the NYC Housing Connect website, an online portal where people can find and apply for affordable housing opportunities in New York City.
