NEW YORK (PIX11) – Licensed weed shops in New York could soon offer discounts.
State cannabis regulators want to get rid of several rules so that dispensaries have a competitive edge over illegal sellers.
Legal shops would be able to offer discounts on gummies, oils and other items to seniors, students and military veterans.
Customers would also be allowed to enroll in loyalty programs, and advertisements could go up in windows and on sidewalks.
Regulators are also considering lifting the ban on selling cannabis in packaging with bright colors.
The proposed rules have to get input from the public before securing final approval.
