Carl Pei’s

Nothing

is all set to unveil its new phone – the Phone (2a) – next month. The company shared a teaser, “Fresh Eyes,” on its social media handles, announcing the launch date for the Phone 2(a), which is on March 5 at 11:30 GMT, i.e., 5:00 PM IST.
Unlike the last two phones – Phone (1) and Phone (2) – from Nothing, which have been the top dogs of the Pei-founded startup, Phone (2a) is expected to be a rather

affordable offering

. Pei sat down to discuss the Phone (2a), in a video titled “Why Nothing (2a), shedding light on what to expect from the upcoming phone.
Nothing Phone (2a): What to expect

The phone 2A is designed for users who want a great performance and camera but don't necessarily need top-of-the-line specs. It is expected to be priced lower than the phone 2, but Nothing says it will still deliver the same quality.
A few renders of Phone (2a) have appeared on the internet over the past few weeks. One render showed the Phone (2a) having the camera module in the centre surrounded by the Glyph, while another showed a design similar to the Phone (2) but without the Glyph. We can expect Nothing Phone (2a) to have the same

design language

as the other products from the company. Pei also hinted in the video that the Phone (2a) design will be similar to the Phone (1) but with some differences.
Nothing is expected to show off the phone’s design later this month at

MWC 2023

.
Rumours are rife that the Phone (2a) would have a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED screen with uniform bezels all around the corners and a punch-hole cutout. Leaked images of Phone 2a suggest it will have a dual camera setup, purportedly the same as the two other Nothing Phone(s) – a set of 50MP wide and ultrawide sensors. It may have a

MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset

, 8GB RAM, and 128GB storage. The Phone (2a) might run Nothing OS 2.5, based on Android 14.
