Nothing Phone

CEO

Carl Pei

seems to be in a 'Bhai mode'. OnePlus co-founder whose new company Nothing is set to launch its third smartphone in India as well as globally -- Nothing Phone 2a -- shared an interesting piece of advice for Tesla CEO

Elon Musk

.

The Chinese-Swedish entrepreneur Carl Pei suggested to Musk that he change his username to "Elon Bhai" on the X platform, formerly Twitter, in order to build a Tesla factory in India.

"@elonmusk did you really think you could build a

Tesla factory in India

without changing your username to Elon Bhai?," he posted.
This tweet came just hours after he changed his username to 'Carl Bhai' on the microblogging platform X.

How Carl Pei's Bhaigiri started
There have been speculations that Nothing has signed bollywood actor Ranveer Singh as its brand ambassador. Regarding the same, a user asked Pei on social media as to why the company needs a brand ambassador. To this Pei replied, “We want to sell more phones bhai.”
Pei's tweet went viral within hours and so far has garnered over 1.4 million views and 12K likes. There are over 600 comments on the post.

Tesla India plant
Elon Musk-owned electric car company Tesla is reported to be finally set to enter the Indian market soon. According to a recent report in Economic Times, the government is close to finalising new import duties for global EV makers like Tesla for cars priced beyond Rs 30 lakh. The report said that the government is mulling reducing the import duties temporarily based on bank guarantees.
However, the report added that the offering of reduced import duties will be for a temporary period. The report, citing sources, said that the government is working on a policy to offer Tesla a 2-3 year period of lowered import taxes. This may involve a reduction in the currently high import duties imposed on luxury cars, in exchange for Tesla's promise to start manufacturing locally in the future.
