Shakti Arora
, who is currently seen playing the lead in Ghum Hai Kisike Pyaar Mein, shares how the current track may not be convincing to many people but it has brought good viewership for the show. The actor stressed on how people do not always want to watch logical things and they want to watch the lead couple to get together soon.
The current track in the show revolves around how Ishaan (Shakti Arora) forcibly gets married to
Savi
(
Bhavika Sharma
) because he feels responsible towards her. He does this without informing his girlfriend, who he is getting married to, in a few days. Sharing his views on this, Shakti said, "This does not happen in cities. It could happen in smaller towns that a guy gets married because he feels obligated towards the girl's family. Maybe five individuals in the entire population of India would do this. But TV is not always about real life. Viewers like to watch the lead couple uniting. They do want Ishaan and Savi to get married and that's why this track has worked. In fact, initially I was not certain if people would accept such a track but later I figured that sometimes it is okay to surrender to the creative team. I am glad that my character Ishaan has connected with the viewers. And even in films and web shows, not every time will you get to see things that are logical."
When asked about the track being similar to another show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlataa Hai, he said, "I have been shooting seven days a week so haven't found time to watch the show. But, I do believe that viewers like watching such love triangles and a guy who will give up on everything to follow his duty. It is entertainment at the end of the day."
Talking about competition to TV from OTT, he said, "I feel that though some people have moved to other platforms, there are still many who like watching TV. The overall ratings of all shows may have dipped from what was the case a decade ago, but TV is mass entertainment and I am enjoying being a part of it."
