NJ First Lady on run for Senate

NEW YORK (PIX11) --

New Jersey First Lady Tammy Murphy hopes to become the first woman to represent New Jersey in the Senate. "Washington D.C. needs more Jersey and needs more women," Murphy said as part of the reason why she's ready to go down to Capitol Hill. Though an active First Lady, Murphy faces questions on her qualifications for a Federal position. Murphy pointed to her long career in finance and how she "represented our country internationally" for more than a decade.
