PATNA/NEW DELHI: Bihar CM and JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar and former deputy CM
Tejashwi Prasad Yadav
of RJD were seen taking the same
flight
from Patna to Delhi on Wednesday to attend their respective
NDA
and
INDIA bloc
meetings, stirring
speculation
about the future of
political alliances
.
Images of the two political-allies -turned-rivals on the flight, with 73-year-old Nitish Kumar greeting his 34-year-old former deputy seated behind him, quickly went viral on social media.
This fuelled speculation about potential efforts to bring Nitish back into INDIA bloc, an
alliance
he helped create before splitting from JD(U)-RJD-Congress coalition in Jan this year to rejoin BJP-led NDA.
Spokespersons for both RJD and JD(U) dismissed the encounter as a “coincidence”. However, Tejashwi, speaking to reporters after landing in Delhi, hinted at future developments. “Have some patience. Wait and watch. We greeted each other. Baaki kya hota hai, aage aage dekhte rahiye,” he said.
