New Zealand have rung in the changes ahead of their crucial T20 World Cup 2024 Group C clash against the West Indies on Thursday, June 13 at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad. They roped in Tim Southee, James Neesham and Rachin Ravindra, leaving out Matt Henry, Michael Bracewell and Mark Chapman.
The Kiwis, led by Kane Williamson, are currently struggling at the bottom of the table with a net run rate of -4.200. The Black Caps got off to a disastrous start to their campaign after losing to Rashid Khan’s Afghanistan by 84 runs at the Providence Stadium in Guyana.

Skipper Williamson admitted that New Zealand got off to a horrendous start, but also backed his team to make a strong comeback. “Tough first match but we have got to regroup,” Williamson said during toss.
West Indies, on the other hand, did not make any changes to their playing XI that took the field against Uganda. The co-hosts have been in stupendous form as they are second in the table with 4 points and a net run rate of +3.574 thanks to wins in both their matches.

If they beat Williamson’s men, not only will they go to the top of the table, but also became the fourth team after South Africa, Australia and India to advance to the Super 8. If the Kiwis lose, then they will have to depend on other factors to stay alive in the competition.
