LONG BRANCH, N.J. (PIX11) -- One day after the sun dazzled with an eclipse, it came out and dazzled with a summer-like day.
"The reason I'm here today is because of the weather," said John Strand of Sunset Park in Brooklyn.
Most people on the beach in Long Branch Tuesday were there for that same reason.
"If you didn't know this was April, I would have swore we were closer to summer," said Strand.
Finally, a change from the cold, rainy, dreary mess that we have put up with for most of this year, even if the tides have turned for just one a day.
For Emily and Tanner from Rutherford, it is their first dose of the natural medicine the ocean brings.
"Spending the day on the beach kind of brings back life," said Emily. "It heals me."
"Honestly, we love the ambiance here and the stores and the beach, the beach is just beautiful," said Susan from Bergen Beach in Brooklyn.
There was one pair of sisters that may have come to the beach. It was this day three years ago that Tania and Raquel Guarderas lost their mom. They made sure to take her to her favorite place.
"We got a cup of coffee, we're sitting with her ashes and just enjoying this beautiful morning with her," said Tania Guarderas. "It's just crazy today out of all the days just really a beautiful day. It's almost like she kind of did this for us."
