National Road Safety Month
campaign,
transport department officials
in
Chengalpet
conducted a
medical camp
and
stress management sessions
for drivers and public.
On Friday, around 300 people, who arrived at Chengalpet regional transport office for driving licence, learner's licence tests, and heavy vehicle drivers were screened at the medical camp.
Motor vehicle inspector S K Hameedha Banu said doctors from Apollo Hospitals screened them for eye defects, hypertension, diabetes and other basic health issues. Among them, 20 people had visual problems and spectacles were provided to them, she said. Bus and auto drivers were trained in yoga.
RTO Sundaramoorthy headed this camp in which inspectors Selvi and Murali ensured that those with severe health complications were referred to tertiary care centres for treatment.
