Nassau County Police Department visits elementary school part of swatting hoax

LONG ISLAND (PIX11) -- Nassau County police returned to a Bellmore elementary school on Friday to thank the children who had a scare on Tuesday morning. 

A 911 call was made claiming there was an active shooter at the school.

Thankfully, it was a prank call, an incident of swatting. 

Police showed up in force, and children used their active shooter training by hiding and sheltering in place.
