N, R subway trains delayed due to shopping cart on tracks in Brooklyn: MTA

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – There are severe delays along the N and R subway lines Tuesday morning due to a shopping cart on train tracks in Brooklyn, according to the MTA.

Crews are working to remove the cart from the tracks near 53rd Street. As a result, there is no R subway service between 36th Street and Bay Ridge-95th Street in both directions.

The last stop on southbound R trains will be either 36th Street or 9th Avenue via the D line. Southbound N trains are running via the D line from 36th Street to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue, according to the MTA.

Commuters are encouraged to take a northbound train for service along the N line in Brooklyn. You can transfer between southbound and northbound trains at 36th Street, New Utrecht Avenue or Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue.

Riders looking for service along the R line between Bay Ridge-95th Street and 59th Street are encouraged to take either a B37 or B36 bus.
