Myanmar army aircraft with 14 on board crash lands at Mizoram's Lengpui airport, 4 critical

GUWAHATI: A Myanmar army

aircraft

, with 14 crew members on board,

crash

landed at the tabletop runway at Mizoram’s Lengpui airport on Tuesday morning.
Four crew members are reported to have been critically injured and have been admitted a Lengpui hospital.

The aircraft had come to airlift the Myanmar

Army

personnel in batches, who had fled Myanmar fighting the rebels and taken shelter in Mizoram last week.

A total of 276 Myanmar army soldiers were brought to Aizawl to be taken home from the Lengpui airport. The Myanmar aircraft was scheduled to carry out several sorties to take the army men in batches.
Earlier last year 104 Myanmar army personnel were taken to border town of Moreh in Manipur from different places in Mizoram by Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopters, and then repatriated.
