PUNE: NCP (
Sharad Pawar
) leader
Supriya Sule
said on Sunday that the seat-sharing formula among Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) constituents for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra will be clear in the next two weeks.
"A detailed discussion was held by INDIA bloc leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, Sanjay Raut and others in Delhi and the seat-sharing formula will be out in the next 15 days," she said. Sule was responding to Raut's claim that
Shiv Sena
(UBT) will contest 23 of the total 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra.
Slamming the Maharashtra government on differences over the Maratha reservation issue, she said: "There is a war within the state cabinet. If its senior most leader (Chhagan Bhujbal) in the cabinet is speaking outside to the media (against his own government), that makes it clear that nobody within the government is ready to hear him out. Bhujbal has not been given due respect in this cabinet. It is unfortunate that things that should be discussed in the cabinet by the ministers are being told to the media. It looks clear that nobody in the state cabinet speaks to each other."
Sule is one of the MPs who was suspended during the winter session of Parliament. She said that she and her NCP colleagues did not enter the well of the house or raise slogans. Even then, they were suspended.
"NCP has nine MPs, including five in Lok Sabha and four in Rajya Sabha. We never entered the well or raised slogans or showed placards inside Parliament. Even the Prime Minister had mentioned in the past that NCP and Biju Janata Dal MPs never indulge in such things. We did not raise slogans that day and the footage is also available to verify it," she said.
