Comedian Munawar Faruqui made his first public appearance on Friday, June 8, days after marrying Mehzabeen Coatwala. In a video on social media, the 'Bigg Boss 17' winner was seen blushing as photographers congratulated him on his second marriage.
Faruqui thanked them for their wishes. This was the first time he publicly confirmed his marriage to Mehzabeen. The couple reportedly got married on May 26, 2024, in a private ceremony attended by family members.
Last week, photos of the couple cutting a cake surfaced online, with Munawar in a white shirt and brown pants and Mehzabeen in a purple sharara suit.
A media outlet reported that actress Hina Khan introduced Munawar to Mehzabeen. They met two months ago at an event where Hina sent Mehzabeen to Munawar for makeup. Hina also attended their wedding.
Munawar was previously married to Jasmine, with whom he has a six-year-old son named Mikael. He first spoke about his son on Kangana Ranaut’s 'Lock Upp' and later in the 'Bigg Boss 17' house. Munawar revealed that he separated from Jasmine in 2020, and their divorce was finalised last year.
He mentioned that his son now stays with him as his ex-wife got remarried. Mehzabeen is reportedly a divorcee and mother to a 10-year-old girl.
