DEHRADUN: A Mumbai-based model was
arrested
for misbehaving with security officers posted at Dehradun's Jolly Grant airport and allegedly threatening to "
blow up
the building" late on Friday evening. Megha Sharma, 32, was later granted bail.
Doiwala SHO Hoshiyar Singh Pankholi said, "We received a complaint from CISF sub-inspector Sunita Devi. The issue arose when the image of Megha's handbag wasn't clear on the scanning system.
Devi requested manual frisking, but she responded with expletives, causing a disturbance. When urged to cooperate, she threatened to bomb the airport."
Megha was returning to Mumbai after a visit to Mussoorie with a friend on a flight scheduled to depart at 3.10pm, when a routine baggage scan led to a clash with a female CISF officer. The disagreement escalated as Megha refused to comply with security protocols. She not only resisted cooperation but also threatened to bomb the airport.
CISF officers immediately apprehended Megha and handed her over to the local police. The charges against her, including obstructing a public servant (the CISF officer) and intentional insults under Indian Penal Code sections 353 and 504, resulted in her arrest. As the charges were bailable, Megha was released from the police station soon after her arrest.
