Multiple people injured in car crash in front of Queens school: police

QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) -- Multiple people were injured after a car reversed onto a sidewalk in front of a Queens school and hit them Thursday evening, police said.

Officers responded to a call for pedestrians struck at 36-12 35th Avenue at 5:30 p.m. Three people were hit by a 2014 Nissan Versa, authorities said.

A 35-year-old female driver was reversing the Nissan when she got onto the sidewalk, police said.

The driver struck three people on the sidewalk: a 14-year-old girl, a 7-year-old girl, and a 58-year-old man. Emergency Medical services were called, and the victims were taken to a local hospital, authorities said.

The 7-year-old has a broken leg, a head injury, and other injuries to her body. The 14-year-old has injuries to her leg, and the 58-year-old man received multiple bruises and has pain in his legs, officials said.

All three victims are in stable condition and are expected to survive, authorities said.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Toxicology for the driver is pending, sources said.
