MIDDLESEX COUNTY, N.J. (PIX11) -- Multiple severe injuries have been reported in Old Bridge Township, N.J., after firefighters responded to a fire Wednesday morning, police say.
All traffic is being redirected away from West Greystone, and a shelter-in-place was issued for a nearby school, police said.
At 11:21 a.m., police responded to a call for a fire and possible explosion on West Greystone. Police, EMS, and fire units from other towns are also assisting in battling the blaze, according to a statement from the Old Bridge Chief of Police.
One person in a stretcher, two fire trucks, and more than a dozen firefighters are at the scene. Firefighters are also removing gear and washing it in a nearby blue portable shower, as shown in a video from AIR11.
Two medical helicopters were called in to transport victims to local hospitals, and an investigation remains ongoing. The names of victims are currently being withheld, police said.
The number of victims remains unclear.
