Multiple injured in Brooklyn crash involving NYPD car: FDNY

CONEY ISLAND, Brooklyn (PIX11) – Multiple people, including two NYPD officers, were hospitalized after a crash in Coney Island early Sunday morning, according to officials. 

The crash happened around 2:11 a.m. near Coney Island Avenue and Avenue U, police said. One person is in critical condition, and two police officers have serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to the FDNY.

Two additional people were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 24-year-old driver collided with another car on Avenue U, sending it crashing into a police car traveling southbound on Coney Island Avenue, police said. The police were not pursuing either of the drivers involved, according to the NYPD.

One person has been taken into custody related to the crash, police said.
