MTA worker beaten in Bronx subway station to face alleged attacker in court

THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – A transit worker who was brutally beaten inside a Bronx subway station in 2022 is headed to court to face his alleged attacker.

Anthony Nelson was left with a broken nose and collarbone after the attack that August. Alexander Wright, who had an extensive criminal record, was charged with assault.

Wright was declared unfit to stand trial last year, but the Bronx District Attorney's Office consented to him getting a mental health evaluation.

The union representing Nelson said it's time to move the case forward.
