MTA reveals changes to subway schedule ahead of Presidents' Day

NEW YORK (PIX11) -- The MTA revealed changes to the subway and bus schedules for the weekend and Presidents' Day.

Starting Friday through Tuesday, the MTA will have several active projects, such as repairs and maintenance during the holiday weekend.

New York City Subway

  • No. 1 trains will be operated in two sections between South Ferry and 116 Street; and Dyckman Street and Van Cortlandt Park-242 Street. Southbound No. 1 train will skip 207th Street. Shuttles will be provided along three routes: 116th Street to 168th Street, 168th Street to 191st Street, and Dyckman Street No. 1 train station to Dyckman Street No. 4 train station.
  • No. 2 and No. 3 trains will both operate locally in both directions between Times Square-42nd Street and Chambers Street.
  • Northbound No. 3 and late-night No. 4 trains will operate expressly between Crown Heights-Utica Avenue and Nevins Street while stopping at the middle platform at Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center.
  • Manhattan-bound No. 7 train will operate express between Mets-Willets Point and 74th Street-Broadway.
  • Northbound C and late-night A trains will operate expressly between Canal Street and 59th Street-Columbus Circle.
  • Northbound E trains will operate expressly between Canal Street and 42nd Street-Port Authority Bus Terminal.
  • Northbound A and D trains will operate locally between 59th Street-Columbus Circle and 125th Street
  • D trains will not operate between 161st Street-Yankee Stadium and Norwood-205th Street, with shuttle buses operating between Mosholu Parkway No. 4 train station and Norwood-205th Street D station
  • E trains will be rerouted to Jamaica-179th Street with shuttle buses operating between Kew Gardens-Union Turnpike and Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer
  • F shuttle trains are suspended and replaced by shuttle buses between Roosevelt Island and Queens Plaza
  • J trains will operate between Jamaica Center-Parsons/Archer and Hewes Street. Shuttle buses will run for commuters between Hewes Street and Essex Street due to repairs being worked on the Williamsburg Bridge.
  • M trains will operate between Metropolitan Avenue and Myrtle Avenue-Broadway
  • Southbound N, Q and R trains will run express between 57th Street-Seventh Avenue and Canal Street.
  • Soundbound No. 1, 2 and 3 trains will skip 14th Street due to ongoing upgrades
  • On Feb. 20 through 23, M trains will skip 57th Street/Sixth Avenue and will be rerouted to Chambers Street on the J train

New York City Buses

  • Buses in the Bronx, Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens will run on a Saturday schedule.
  • The QM2 and QM5 buses will run on an enhanced Saturday schedule and the QM20 will run on a special schedule
  • Staten Island buses will run on a reduced weekday schedule. There will be no limited service with the exception of the S89, S90 and S93. The S46 Teleport service, SIM4X and SIM8X will not run

Long Island Rail Road

  • The LIRR will run on a holiday schedule with off-peak fares in effect all-day
  • Some Far Rockaway Branch trains will be diverted to Grand Central as a result of planned track work near Penn Station

Metro-North Railroad

  • On Monday, Metro-North will run on a Saturday schedule on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines with off-peak fares in effect all-day
  • Hudson Rail Link buses and Haverstraw-Ossining and Newburgh-Beacon ferries will not run
  • Port Jervis and Pascack Valley lines will operate on a weekend/holiday schedule, with off-peak fares in effect all day.
  • The Port Jervis Line will add the following trains for Monday
    • A train leaving Port Jervis at 6:18 a.m., making all stops through Suffern, then operating express to Secaucus Junction and Hoboken, arriving in Hoboken at 8:30 a.m., with a connecting train at Secaucus Junction to Penn Station New York, arriving at Penn Station at 8:39 a.m. 
    • A train leaving Port Jervis at 4:05 p.m., making all stops through Suffern, then operating express to Secaucus Junction and Hoboken, arriving in Hoboken at 6:24 p.m., with a connecting train at Secaucus Junction to Penn Station, New York, arriving at Penn Station at 6:33 p.m. 
    • A train leaving Hoboken at 5:19 p.m. to Port Jervis, with a connecting train departing Penn Station New York at 5:14 p.m., stopping at Secaucus Junction and then operating express to Suffern and then making all stops to Port Jervis, arriving at 7:35 p.m. 

PATH

  • Modified weekend schedule with supplemental service throughout the morning commute.
  • Journal Square-33 Street (via Hoboken) and Newark-World Trade Center lines in service.
