Earlier this month,
Elon Musk
urged
MrBeast
– who is among the most popular YouTubers in the world – to post his videos directly on X (formerly Twitter). However, the Youtuber said that he was not interested due to less revenue on the platform. But last week he posted a video to check how much he can make in a week on the Musk-owned social media website. He made millions but is not impressed by it.
“MY FIRST X VIDEO MADE OVER $250,000!,” said MrBeast, who previously claimed that his videos cost millions to make, said in a post on X.
He, however, called it a “bit of a facade” because of the attention his video got after his conversation with
Musk
that was widely reported in the media.
“But it’s a bit of a facade. Advertisers saw the attention it was getting and bought ads on my video (I think) and thus my revenue per view is prob higher than what you’d experience,” he added.
Zack
Nelson
, popularly known by his Jerryrigeverything YouTube channel, suggested that this may have happened because Musk boosted the video via his account. Musk’s post reached 56 million people and MrBeast’s video got over 160 million views.
“‘Advertisers’ or a boost from Elon himself?” Nelson said.
MrBeast’s first video on X
Last week, MrBeast posted a video on X.
“$1
Car
vs $100,000,000 Car!!!,” he said in a post that has a full-length video.
“I’m curious how much ad revenue a video on X would make so I’m reuploading this to test it. Will share ad rev next week,” he added.
Musk reposted the video, “First MrBeast video posted directly on 𝕏!” he said.
