Lenovo-owned Motorola
is likely to expand its portfolio soon with a new flagship smartphone, the
Moto X50 Ultra
. In a video shared on Chinese social media platform Weibo, the smartphone maker has teased the upcoming X50 Ultra. This video hints that the smartphone is likely to launch in China in the coming months.
The
Moto
X50 Ultra will succeed the
Moto X40 smartphone
that launched in China in December 2022.
Later, the Moto X40 smartphone was rebranded to launch in global markets, including India as the
Moto Edge 40
. If
Motorola
continues to follow its tradition, the upcoming Moto X50 Ultra may launch in global markets (except North America) as the
Moto Edge 50 Pro
.
The 24-second video shows a Lenovo-sponsored Formula 1 car racing which hints at the speed of the new handset and teases the AI features that may arrive for the Moto X50 Ultra.
As per the video, the smartphone will include new AI-powered features. For this phone, Moto has also collaborated with Formula 1, the video reveals. This suggests that the Moto X50 Ultra may launch in China on April 21, which is also the race date for the
F1 China Grand Prix
.
Moto X50 Ultra: What to expect
The video also offers a quick peek at the upcoming smartphone. The smartphone is expected to appear first in China sporting a faux leather back and a Formula 1-inspired design. Moto X50 Ultra’s rear camera array which is placed in the upper left corner of the device may also be able to capture the essence of speed.
Rumours suggest that last month, the phone appeared on several regulatory websites including the FCC. The Moto X50 Ultra is likely to be powered by Qualcomm’s latest flagship chipset, the 4nm-based Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and a 4500mAh battery that may support 125W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
