Bowie State Bulldogs
kicked off their season against the
Morgan State Bears
, ultimately falling 6-1 in a hard-fought battle.
Taylor Dawkins
emerged as a standout performer for the Bulldogs, going 2-for-3 at the plate, including a well-executed double. Despite the individual efforts, the Bulldogs faced a determined Morgan State squad that secured a solid opening victory.
Akirra Pullen
(0-1) took the pitching responsibilities for Bowie State and, unfortunately, was handed the loss in the circle. The game marked the first of two matchups against the Lady Bears for BSU, setting the tone for the early part of their season.
The Bulldogs made an early impact by putting a run on the board in the second inning.
Jahkya Watkins
delivered a bases-loaded walk that allowed BSU to claim an initial lead. However, Morgan State responded emphatically, tallying six runs over the next five innings to secure a 6-1 victory.
Bowie State's most productive inning was the second, where they managed to score one run. Bulldogs' pitchers faced 29 Morgan State hitters, with seven ground balls and eight fly balls recorded.

The Bulldogs are set to face teams from the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), commencing with a matchup against Albany State on Friday.
