The bulk of the snow will fall between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. Saturday and taper off around daybreak, according to the New York City Emergency Management Department. A few flurries are possible in the early afternoon on Saturday.

The New York City Department of Sanitation issued a snow alert beginning at 10 p.m. Friday through 10 a.m. Saturday.

NYC Emergency Management issued a travel advisory late Friday into Saturday but added that significant impacts aren’t expected. However, slippery roads with slight reductions in visibility may cause minor travel disruptions, officials warned.

Temperatures are expected to be in the low 30s Friday night and drop below freezing in the early morning hours, city officials said. Temperatures will climb into the mid and upper 30s Saturday afternoon after the snow has ended, according to NYC Emergency Management.

Alternate side parking regulations will be canceled on Saturday. Parking meters will remain in effect.
