Moped-riding Bronx bandit snatches cellphone from victim's hands: NYPD

BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) -- The NYPD is searching for a moped-riding suspect accused of stealing cellphones from unsuspecting victim's hands in several reported incidents in the Bronx.

Authorities report the same suspect riding a black moped stole five cellphones, each time from a woman, dating back since Jan. 29, 2024, according to the NYPD. In each incident, the suspect steals the cellphone before fleeing the scene on his moped, authorities said.

The last reported incident was on Feb. 27, authorities said. A 47-year-old woman was walking on Morris Park Avenue when the suspect snatched her phone right out of her hand, police said.

None of the victim's were injuried in any of the incidents reported, authorities said.
