NEW YORK (PIX11) – Free education, six-figure jobs, and affordable housing are just a few of the topics of discussion on this month’s Monica Makes It Happen Show.

New York City is partnering with the Metropolitan College of New York to help city workers go back to school and get their high school diploma and college credit for free.

Louis Molina, the commissioner of the New York City Department of Citywide Administrative Services, and Dr. Charles Gibbs, the president of the Metropolitan College of New York, joined the show to discuss the partnership.

Additionally, Molina is hiring. He is in charge of the city’s workforce of 300,000. He said there are 3,000 jobs open, including 1,200 jobs that are paying in the six figures.

Meryl Block Weissman, the deputy commissioner for housing access and stability with the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, joined the show to discuss an affordable housing lottery currently open in Brooklyn.

Melanie Hartzog,  the president and CEO of the New York Foundling, also joined this month's Monica Makes It Happen Show. The New York Foundling has three new buildings helping families across New York City with affordable housing.
