BHOPAL/JABALPUR: A 25-year-old man strangled his 15-year-old sister to death after allegedly finding her in an intimate moment with a minor from the same village in Madhya Pradesh's Panna district, police said Saturday.
The family tried to cover it up by making it seem like the girl had hanged herself, but the autopsy revealed the truth. The accused and his 55-year-old mother were arrested on Friday. The 16-year-old boy, who was with the victim, has been charged with rape under Pocso Act.
As per the FIR, the girl was alone at home on January 31 evening while the rest of the family was attending a function. Her
brother
returned early and was shocked to allegedly find her with another boy from the village.
Furious, he tried to grab the boy but he broke free and fled. In a fit of rage, the accused allegedly strangled his sister. When his mother returned home, he told her what had happened and they both cooked up a story to conceal the crime, police said.
