BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – A mother and her boyfriend are facing accusations of reckless endangerment and other charges after emergency responders discovered her malnourished children on Monday, sources said.
According to arrest records, Kiana Messier, 25, of the Bronx, was arrested along with her boyfriend, 26-year-old Thomas Madera.
Officers responded to a 911 call at 11:50 a.m. at 271 Linden Street in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Bushwick.
Police say three children were found at the address and appeared to be malnourished. The 6-year-old girl, a 3-year-old boy, and a 10-month-old girl were taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
They are reported to be stable and expected to survive, according to the police.
Messier is facing charges of assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and reckless endangerment.
Madera faces charges of assault, endangering the welfare of a child, reckless endangerment, and unlawful imprisonment.
ACS is prohibited by state law from sharing whether someone has a history with it, sources say.
