Mithun Chakraborty hospitalised in Kolkata; son Mahaakshay says 'routine check up'

hospitalised

in Kolkata. Reports suggested taht the veteran actor had complained of

chest pain

and was taken to a private medical facility for treatment.
However, Mithun's son, Mahaakshay Chakraborty confirmed to ETimes that the veteran actor was doing absolutely fine and that it was just a routine check up.

Last month, Mithun Chakraborty hit headlines after he was conferred with the prestigious Padma Bhushan Award, the third-highest civilian award in the Republic of India.
Expressing gratitude, Mithun Chakraborty, in a video, had said in Bengali, “I am proud, I am happy to have received this award. I would like to thank everyone. I have never asked anything for myself from anyone. I am experiencing the feeling of receiving something without asking today. It’s a different feeling altogether. It’s a great feeling.” He had further shared, I would like to dedicate this award to all my fans, my well-wishers from in and out of India, from all over the world. Those who have selflessly loved me, I would like to dedicate the award to them. Thank you so much for giving me so much love and respect.”
Apart from Mithun Chakraborty, Usha Uthup and actor Vijaykanth are among the Padma Bhushan awardees.
