During the match, Multan captain Mohammad Rizwan faced disappointment when he was clean bowled by Shaheen Shah Afridi in the first over without scoring a single run. However, Usman Khan's remarkable performance compensated for this setback.

In the final over, Usman Khan, who had been dropped by Carlos Brathwaite on 89, was eventually caught out by Afridi, giving him his second wicket.

Mir's exceptional bowling skills were on display once again as he swiftly dismantled Lahore's middle-order. He took the vital wickets of Rassie van der Dussen (30), George Linde (caught at the outside edge), and Jahandad Khan (bowled off a full pitched delivery) in just one over.
