Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella announces ADVANTA(I)GE INDIA; aims to impart AI skills to 2 million Indians

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella

is currently in India. During his visit, Nadella reinforced the company's commitment to helping the country become an AI leader. He announced a new initiative called ADVANTA(I)GE INDIA while speaking at the Microsoft CEO Connection event in Mumbai.
With this project, the tech giant aims to offer 2 million Indians with opportunities to improve their AI skills by 2025.

Nadella said that this project will help close skill gaps and prepare India for the AI age.

He also noted that several Indian organisations are seeing major returns on their AI investments. On average, Indian companies see $3.86 in returns for every $1 spent on AI.

ITC: The company’s Krishi Mitra chatbot uses voice and vernacular to aid Indian farmers.
Karya: The company partnered with Microsoft on local language datasets while uplifting rural workers.
Arvind Limited: This company’s Annual Report Copilot saves 60% of executive time.
Air India: The airline’s AI virtual agent manages 6,000+ customer queries daily.
During his visit, Nadella also engaged with India's developer and tech community.
